Tips for Success During Construction – NTBA has produced a guide for Kings Beach businesses that provides strategies and techniques to help them during Kings Beach Commercial Core Improvement Project (KBCCIP) construction. The guide, made possible by Placer County Economic Development Department and North Tahoe Transient Occupancy Tax, is intended to prepare business owners and employees for construction impacts and empower you to be proactive
Business Resiliency Planning Toolkit – Business Resiliency Initiative (BRI) aims to help improve the awareness of and currently preparedness for disaster risks faced by the region’s small business economy. Improving awareness of risks and planning for business continuity can make great strides toward protecting individual small businesses and the economy of the greater region.
SCORE – SCORE offers the nation’s largest, network of free, expert business mentors. If you’re just starting a business, SCORE mentors can provide the practical action plan, education and tools you need to open your doors and establish a customer base. Already own a business? Our volunteer mentors can help identify ways to increase profit, improve employee and customer satisfaction, and achieve work/ life balance. With SCORE, you can have the honest, confidential and sometimes tough conversations about managing money, motivating your team, and other business topics. We can be your confidant, your cheerleader and your accountability partner on your path to achieving success. Best of all, most of SCORE’s services and workshops are free or at a very low cost.
Sierra Human Resources Association – SHRA serves human resource practitioners, business owners and managers, students and the community by providing professional resources, networking and educational opportunities.
Sierra Small Business Development Center – Sierra SBDC is here to help you build your business, find capital, create jobs and contribute to a prosperous economy in the Sierra region. Their no cost consulting services are focused on helping you create a feasible business model, assess business opportunities, determine financial needs, identify potential sources of financing, and design an effective strategy to market and grow.
Small Business Administration – Since its founding on July 30, 1953, the U.S. Small Business Administration has delivered millions of loans, loan guarantees, contracts, counseling sessions and other forms of assistance to small businesses.
The Paragon Effect – The Paragon Effect helps companies grow by creating meaningful connections with their customers and offers a strategic plan through the 6 paragons
Placer County Department of Public Works – The Department of Public Works provides a wide range of public services outside of city limits such as: road maintenance, bus service/transit, floodplain management, stormwater quality, public works engineering, maintenance of county vehicles, and Americans with Disabilities Act/Disabilities Access bus services and roadway ramps. They also provide information regarding public works projects, snow removal, road maintenance, Tahoe specifics, private land development, engineering/planning resources, encroachment permits, disadvantaged business enterprise program and the McKinney-Rubicon Trail.
Placer County Office of Economic Development – The Office of Economic Development provides services and information regarding the economic and demographic profile of the county,the Lake Tahoe Film Office, business tools, Sunset Industrial Area Plan, the Economic Development Board, and workforce development providing no-cost hiring assistance to employers in the County, wage reimbursement, job seeker resources, and job fairs.
Placer County Planning Services Division – Placer County Planning provides information on land development and zoning, review and make recommendations on land development applications, assist the Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission in planning for growth, and enforce the Placer County Zoning Ordinance.
Liberty Utilities – Liberty Utilities West is a regulated utility, delivering responsive and reliable service to nearly 49,000 California customers in the Lake Tahoe and surrounding areas. With a local approach to management, service and support, they deliver efficient, dependable services to meet the needs of their customers.
North Tahoe Public Utility District – The NTPUD provides sewer services to the residents of the north shore of Lake Tahoe. The District’s boundaries range from the Nevada state line in Crystal Bay to Dollar Hill. Their service area includes the communities of Kings Beach, Tahoe Vista, Brockway Vista, Carnelian Bay, Cedar Flat and Agate Bay.
Southwest Gas – Southwest Gas Corporation is principally engaged in the business of purchasing, distributing and transporting natural gas to residential, commercial and industrial customers in the southwestern United States.
Spectrum Business – Spectrum Business helps businesses achieve better results by delivering reliable Internet, Ethernet, Phone and Enhancement solutions. They offer a wide range of products — from high-quality broadband services to phone systems and top-tier digital TV and Music, that are flexible and can meet the demands of growing businesses.
Main Street Approach – As a unique preservation-based economic development tool, the Main Street Four Point Approach® is the foundation for local initiatives to revitalize their districts by leveraging local assets—from cultural or architectural heritage to local enterprises and community pride. In 2004, with the support of Placer County, the NTBA began coordinating community meetings to implement the Main Street Four-Point Approach in their operations.
Shop North Lake Tahoe Truckee – The Shop Local program was designed to support local businesses, reduce the carbon footprint of locals traveling outside of their community to shop, and protect the region’s local character. Money spent at local businesses recirculates through wages and taxes, benefitting the economic health of the entire community and supporting unique local businesses.
Take Care Tahoe – Take Care is a campaign effective July 1, 2015 to promote a culture of environmental stewardship, using one voice to inspire people to take care of Tahoe. Take the pledge to Take Care.
