Clean Up Day takes place annually on the first Saturday in June, RAIN OR SHINE in Kings Beach, Tahoe Vista, Carnelian Bay and Crystal Bay. This year, Clean Up Day will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 9am-1pm. Over 100 volunteers will take to the streets to pick up trash. Last year, 2,300 lbs of trash was collected. Registration will be at 9am at The Community House in Kings Beach located at 265 Bear St. Kings Beach, CA. Volunteers will be provided with gloves, bags and volunteer appreciation goodies. While cleaning up, volunteers that find “Golden Items” win prizes donated by local businesses. At registration, volunteers will receive a coupon for $5 off CB’s Pizza & Grill 32nd Annual Pig Roast. It will take place from 3-10pm, a benefit for North Tahoe Family Resource Center.
It’s easy to participate. Preregistration is not required. Simply plan on making your way to Community House the morning of to receive your street clean-up assignment and obtain clean up supplies. Volunteers that want to clean up at Crystal Bay, Tahoe Vista or Carnelian Bay can pick up their supplies at Community House during registration or at the NTBA office the week of May 29 from 8-5pm. Please call ahead to make sure an NTBA staff member is at the office. Immediately following the “dirty” work, Clean Up Day volunteers are invited to attend a no-host lunch at Tahoe Central Market where they will receive 10% off their purchase. Get involved in this important annual community event and be a part of sprucing up our town before the busy tourist season!
For more information about Clean Up Day, please contact the North Tahoe Business Association at 530-546-9000.
***Because NTBA would like to continue to “green” this annual community event, we will no longer be producing Clean Up Day t-shirts. We recommend volunteers wear a past Clean Up Day t-shirt or a t-shirt that is green or blue!
